About

The Western District of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma is comprised of 9 states (Alaska, Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Idaho). There are 12 active chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and 7 active chapters of Tau Beta Sigma across the 7 continental states. Currently, there are no chapters in Hawaii or Alaska.

The district has two councils of District Officers (DOs), who are college students and recent graduates. The DOs provide support, guidance, and leadership for the chapters in the district. District Officers are elected at Western District Convention, an event usually held in March or April of each year.

In addition to DOs, we have our resourceful advisors who work with the organizations on a district and national level. These advisors are the Kappa Kappa Psi governors and the Tau Beta Sigma counselors. They help ensure the DOs plan and achieve their goals for their time in office. Advisors must be at least 25 years old, be a member of their respective organization, and possess skills that will allow them to serve the organizations.

The district’s mascot is Snarky Sharky. He enjoys traveling and collecting pins from the universities and colleges in the West. He currently resides in Flagstaff with the Gamma Kappa chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and the Alpha Chi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma!
